Amber Heard and Johnny Depp returned to court on Monday after a week-long hiatus in the libel trial. The Aquaman The star, 36, has testified about her “violent and chaotic” relationship with Depp, claiming that most of their fights ended with her being assaulted. But she insisted that there is no controversy that ends with human excrement in the marital bed.
One of the many claims that grabbed the headlines during the trial was that in April 2016, there was “human excrement” left on the side of Depp’s bed. (So that the topic made it Saturday Night Live Last month, the court was shown a photo of defecating, which Heard hinted was from the husband’s small dogs, Boo or Pistol, and not a joke she or her friend made.
“What if there were any problems Boo had with bathroom problems, if you will?” asked Heard’s attorney, Eileen Breedhoft.
“She ate Johnny’s weed when she was a puppy and had had problems with bowel control her whole life, among some other issues, we had to take her regularly to the vet,” Heard replied. “She had some control issues.”
Heard said she left the dogs in bed while grieving for Coachella.
“Did you commit any kind of joke?” asked Bredehoft.
Heard replied, “Absolutely not.” “First of all, I don’t think that’s funny. I don’t know what adult women do. I wasn’t in the mood either, and my life was falling apart.”
Heard testified that Depp had abused her the night before.
“I just got attacked on my 30th birthday by my violent husband who I was so in love with and I knew I needed to leave. It wasn’t a really fun time and I don’t think it’s funny, period. That’s disgusting,” the actress added.
Heard claimed that Depp hit her the night before “in her brother’s way”. When she was on the floor, he grabbed her pubic bone.
“He kind of pushed me and asked, ‘You’re so tough? Do you want to be tough like a man now?'” She claimed.
The actress said she used the safe word “sofa” which means armistice.
“I was so hurt,” she told the jury. “I remember crying and feeling ridiculed.”
When Depp left the shed that night, Heard said the actor apparently yelled, “Happy Birthday ******!”
The April 2016 incident was one of many Heard’s incidents that passed the jury. The ex-couple did not see each other for a month after the fight on her birthday. They met in May 2016 after Depp’s mother passed away. Heard said they got into a fight over the faeces because Depp was sure it was human faeces.
“I thought it was just an illusion he was having,” Heard said. She claimed that Depp threw a cell phone that hit her in the face. Then hit “I’m on the top of my head.” The actress testified that her friend and neighbor ran and rescued Heard.
Depp denied all of his ex-wife’s allegations of abuse. The actress is expected to be questioned by Depp’s legal team later on Monday. A Heard spokesperson issued a proactive statement.
“There is a saying for trial lawyers: When the facts are on your side, discuss the facts. When the facts aren’t on your side, blast away on the podium. Today, we expect Depp’s lawyers instead to take a look at the victim. We fear that you will be,” Heard’s representative said. Equal parts shameful and hopeless. And compelling evidence – the truth – is not on Depp’s side.” “The only thing we suspect Depp’s lawyers will avoid is the central issue in this trial: Does Amber or any woman have a First Amendment right to free speech.”
Deep Heard sued for $50 million for an opinion piece she wrote in 2018 Washington Post She describes herself as a victim of domestic and sexual abuse.
