LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime (10302) – Brick Fan is Officially Revealed

LEGO has officially revealed the highly anticipated LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime (10302). After yesterday’s disaster, we can finally reveal the 1,508-piece set that will be released on June 1 for $169.99.

Optimus Prime will also have a large selection of accessories including Ion Blaster, Energon Ax, Allspark and jetpack. There will also be a panel in the style of UCS with its technical specifications. The main advantage here is that it is able to switch from robot mode to truck mode without having to remove any parts.

Billund, Denmark, May 12: The two leading global toy companies, LEGO Group and Hasbro, Inc., unite. (NASDAQ:HAS) debuts to revive the iconic Transformers Autobot, Optimus Prime, in LEGO® form – complete with alternate mode. The new LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime set is a tribute to the heroic Autobot leader with over 1,500 detailed LEGO pieces. Once the figure is assembled, it features 19 points of articulation that allow propellers to convert from the robot to the truck’s alternate mode and back again. This is one of the first times a LEGO set has been able to convert between two models, without the need for rebuilding.

The new LEGO set will take fans back to 1984 to the time Transformers first exploded into popular culture with its collection of original games and animated TV series. Similar to the G1 Optimus Prime figure, the new LEGO set includes remarkable attention to detail and features such as an ion blaster, Energon Pickaxe, Energon Cube, and Autobot Matrix of Leadership that can be stowed in the chest room.
