Youtube rolls out a new update: Here’s what has changed – Times of India

Youtube It started rolling out a new update that adds multiple changes to the video player on this video streaming platform. According to TechCrunch, the Google-owned video service has received a new feature that will help users identify the most popular parts of the video they are watching. The company revealed that the new update will add a graph on each video that can be used to easily identify the most played and watched parts of the video. This new feature can be useful, especially for longer videos and those that aren’t divided into different sections – using either timestamps or video chapters.
YouTube’s Most Frequent Feature
Initially, the most replayed part of the Videos feature was only available to YouTube Premium Subscribers who have access to this feature from However, the company has announced that this feature will now be available to all YouTube users – both free and premium, and will be available across desktop, iOS, and Android platforms.
How will this new feature help users?
Youtube has added a graph to its video player to display the most frequently occurring parts of a video. This infographic is designed for users to quickly navigate through any YouTube video by only watching the most interesting parts. Creators typically divide long videos into clips, chapters, or links to identify parts by timestamps. However, these clips may not always correlate with where the chapters or timestamps are, which is often the case when a particular clip in a video goes viral.
Moreover, this feature is expected to help users to clarify the most important parts of the tutorial videos and it will also direct users directly to the segment with the most movement, for example, the most watched part of the player video.
Now, YouTube users will be able to see a gray graph as they navigate through the video with the red playback progress bar. The company claims that wherever the graph is high, this area will depict the portion(s) of the video that has been played back multiple times. The thumbnail above the progress bar will also notify users when they reach the “most restarted” segment.
Other features released by YouTube
Apart from the most frequent feature, the new update for Youtube also adds support for video chapters. Initially, the company launched this retail tool in May 2020 for smart TVs and game consoles.
How does the YouTube separation tool work?

What is YouTube Single Loop?
The Google-owned platform has also added a new feature called Single Loop which will allow users to place a single video on endless repetition. Users will be able to use this option from the same menu used to adjust video quality, play captions, and more.
Changes added to YouTube full screen mode
A new panel will also appear in full screen mode which will display some information about the video including – video description, video chapters and comments. Full screen mode will also allow users to access quick action buttons like – like, dislike, comment, share or add a video to playlist directly from the mode.
