Coronation Street star Jimmy Kenna confirms Phil’s big secret

Coronation Street Spoilers follow.

Coronation Street Superstar Jimmy Keena has confirmed the details of Phil Whitaker’s big secret.

Viewers have recently seen on-screen hints that Phill is hiding something – and the truth will be revealed in Monday night’s (May 23) episode.

When Phill takes care of Fiz Stape’s daughter Hope all day because she’s too sick to go to school, he lets her use his laptop to play games.

Hope sneaks through the computer and is horrified to find a set of secret files detailing the crimes of her father, serial killer John Stape, who died in 2011.

Hope’s discovery leads to Phill giving up on why he owns the files to Fiz. It turns out that he’s planning to write a real crime book about John, written from Fizz’s point of view.

Talking to digital spy And other media outlets, Jamie explained: “That’s definitely not Phill’s reason for wanting to be with Fiz in the first place – it’s a coincidence.

“The thing with Phill is that you can always guarantee that he’s doing everything with the best of intentions. So even that seemingly awkward gambit to write a book about Fiz’s murderous husband, he has good intentions.

Phill was aware of Fiz’s past, but he never spoke to her about it until the Last Supper with his friends. Phill thought Fiz would talk about it when she was ready.

Fiz has now told Phill that she feels she has to hide herself and is feeling a bit ashamed and embarrassed about her past. So Phill believes, in his wisdom, that if he wrote this book, it would be the best way for Fiz to be free in John’s shadow.

“Phill thinks he will get rid of the whole black cloud that was hanging over Fiz. He can help him if he writes his book from Fiz’s point of view, tell her side of the story and release these chains for her.

“This obviously backfired and Phill didn’t think about it properly. He should have opened up about Fiz and he should have talked about it, but that’s the drama that followed.”

Hope’s immediate reaction to the revelations about Phill was to climb onto the excavator in the garden of her new home, which is currently undergoing renovation.

Hope uses the excavator to retaliately destroy Phill’s car, leaving him horrified to see that her behavior is once again out of control.

Jimmy continued, “Phil is a brave guy against girls. I think he’s always wanted kids and it’s never been done that way. I think in his mind, he has the perfect scenario.”

“Phil absolutely loves Fiz. He loves her unconditionally and they all come as one package. Phill thinks he’s getting on well with Hope, but now she’s attacking his car with a backhoe!”

“It shows that Phill didn’t think about it very well. His intentions are good, but I think he acts a little before he thinks. He thinks he’s going to save the situation and everything will be fine, but he hasn’t thought through the fact that Hope doesn’t know any of this information.”

“It’s just the click of a button on the laptop and Hope’s world collapses. Put that together with someone as fickle as Hope, you’re asking for trouble.”
