The bombers called the complainant on Thursday to inform him that the allegations had led to Saunders’ release.

He signed a two-year contract last month and has been in Winnipeg for the past two weeks for a training camp, but is currently back in his home country of the United States.

The woman said she met Saunders at a restaurant, after which she planned to attend a house party with several people. When the plans failed, the woman said she offered Saunders a ride home.

When it came time to break up, Saunders pressed into her apartment. The woman alleges that while inside, she was pressured to have sex and assaulted for hours despite repeatedly pleading with him to stop.

The woman said she called the police and spoke to free press So that no one else has to experience what she’s been through.

“I was shocked that it happened,” she said. “I feel violated. But I am so angry. I am angry because anyone could do that and then come home and come home and everything is fine.” “If there was a paper trail following him, he wouldn’t be able to do that to anyone else.”

The news of Saunders’ departure raised eyebrows as he was vying for a major role in Winnipeg’s crime. Head Bombers coach Mike O’Shea was lacking in detail when asked Wednesday about the surprise release of Saunders.

“Every time we release someone, there are a variety of reasons,” O’Shea said. “I don’t think we get into these reasons with everyone. You have to understand that we always make the best decisions for the team.”
