Looks like Kara didn’t make the cut.
She’s not a musician, but somehow Cara Delevingne ended up as one of the most talked about guests at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards.
Although it remains unconfirmed, it appears that the model-turned-actor may have chosen to invite as an addition to rap star Megan Thee Stallion. But this does not explain Kara’s rather strange behavior at night.
In case you weren’t scrolling through your social media feeds this week, a lot of Twitter users couldn’t help but notice that Cara was acting a little weird about Megan in particular, and that sparked a slew of memes.
The night started with a red carpet, with Cara being seen making weird faces and lurking behind Meghan in the background of all her pictures.
Seemingly inexcusable, she even jumped into the frame at one point to play Meghan’s dress train.
Before we go any further, it’s important to note – as far as we know – that Meghan and Cara have never made it clear that they are close friends, or that they hang out in the same circles. Which made the whole situation more confusing as the night went on.
With all that in mind, you might be able to better understand everyone’s confusion as the guests took their seats inside the party, and – to the fans’ amazement – Cara was seated front of the crowd between two of the night’s biggest contenders, Meghan and Doja Cat.
Later in the night when Meghan was called out as the winner in the Female Rap Artist category, fan intrigue reached new heights after seeing that Cara seemed to invade Meghan’s personal space, stick her tongue close to her face, and once again, fiddle with a dress train Meg when she stood up to receive her award.
Shortly thereafter, a disgusting video surfaced online, showing Meghan and Doga talking away in their seats, before Cara hung her head in the conversation.
In the clip that has now gone viral, both Meg and Doja seem to be laughing at them and seeming unaffected by the sudden interruption. But now, fans are starting to feel that Meghan may have been a little uncomfortable with Cara’s antics after all.
So, after the show ended, Meghan took to her Instagram account to celebrate her win and repost some great shots from the night. However, some Eagle followers couldn’t help but notice something unusual in one of Megan’s photos from the party.
In the photo, which Meg retweeted on her story from a fan’s account, she and Doga can be seen standing next to each other in their seats. Of course, it didn’t take long for people to notice that Cara – who was seated among them in the original photo – had been completely freed from the shot.
Although Meghan didn’t edit herself, fans soon began to speculate that the repost was a subtle reference to the online comment surrounding Cara’s antics.
However, others were quick to point out that in the unedited photo, Cara looks a bit blurry, prompting the theory that the edit might have been just because Cara wasn’t ready for the camera.
Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see if Meghan candidly comments on the situation. We’ll keep you posted if you do.
